Chisago County Career Exploration in Manufacturing Event \;
\n\nTo celebrate Manufacturers Month and acknowledge all that manufacturing companies contribute to the economy\, various representatives throughout the county are coordinating an event for manufacturers to meet students from four school districts within the county. Representatives include: the Chisago County HRA-EDA\, Chisago Lakes &ndash\; North Branch &ndash\; Rush City &\; Forest Lake schools districts\, local businesses\, city officials\, and workforce agents.
\n\nThe event is called &ldquo\;Career Exploration in Manufacturing.&rdquo\; This event will be held at Splitrocks Entertainment Center in Wyoming. Over 200 high school students will be met inside the facility by manufacturing companies from throughout the county and encouraged to visit with them about career options in manufacturing.
\n\nWe would like to offer your business a space at this event and to take advantage of this event to promote your employment opportunities and required skills to students to consider manufacturing as an excellent option for a career. For a small fee of $25 (nonrefundable)\, you will be provided a 6'\; table and two chairs. Electricity is available on request.
\nPlease note that we are encouraging student engagement and interaction as a part of the event so be thinking of what you can provide as an interactive conversation piece.
\n\nWe encourage the participating businesses to bring a hands-on career exploration activity to engage and interact with students at the event. Examples of hands-on exploration would be: An interactive activity\, build/create a take-away item\, a game\, an object that demonstrates potential tasks or duties of position\, a quiz or trivia related to your business\, final product displays and the process of how they came to be or live demonstrations of machines or processes.
