If you are interested in local history, the Friends of the Karl Oskar House invite you to hear featured speaker David Elfstrand at their annual meeting Saturday, April 9, at the Chisago Lakes Area Library, 11754 302nd St., Chisago City.
The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. with FIKA (Swedish for coffee and a snack) and entertainment by the Nya Duvemåla Folkmusiklag. Following a brief business meeting, David Elfstrand will share remembrances of growing up on Newell Avenue in Lindstrom in the 1940s and 1950s when his father was the local pharmacist. Elfstrand went on to found Odin Imports.
